I bought the standalone version of Office for Mac today, installed it, and it's showing version 16.54 which I understand is the latest, but I can't use XLOOKUP or LET or other functions I thought were new in Office 2021.......

The only odd thing is that on the 'About Excel' screen it says my Licence is Retail Licence 2019... I did have Office 2019 loaded but installed 2021 as well.

I tried uninstalling office and re-installing 2021 from my account on the MS site, but no joy.

Any thoughts?

TIA

I saw another post about excel 2021 and one of the commenters who seemed quite knowledgeable speculated that 2021 and 2019 are currently the same product and that the 2021 features would come at some point in the very near future. I’m on my phone or else I’d look it up, but it might be worth searching out the thread for a pretty solid answer to your question.

How do your Excel app looks?
This is how the 2021 should be:

Version No. looks OK - Licence info strange as it's 2021 - a hangover from my 2019 version of Office.

I'll do a search to see if the extra functions are coming - bit annoyed they don't mention that on the website.

Just spotted that thread. Blimmin' annoying that MS don't say THAT when asking for my ££££ !

Definitely strange. Both the XLOOKUP and LET functions are in my version; Office 2021 Home and Student.

If Office uses the 2019 license, then the 2021 features wouldn't appear even when running the same version of the software.

Try cleaning the old license with the official MS tool: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193
