some help please...not sure about which iMac to get - i am am new Mac user. looking at either the 27 inch 2.7 GHz with 4GB RAM (512MB graphics card) or 27 inch 3.1 GHz with 4 GB RAM (1 GB graphics card). $500 NZ difference between the 2. can i upgrade RAM later? i am doing some photo and music editing - also want to run final cut pro x when it comes out in june so the machine will need to run this and Office for Mac amongst other basics. i am not gaming.Tech wisdom gratefully received! thanks all.

You can upgrade the RAM later (but not the graphics RAM). If not gaming, I'd have thought the base 27" is your best bet, most of the upgrade of the higher model is the graphics card.

And when you step up into 3.1 i5 .. means only one thing .. you game on it .. something that has been dumbed down on every Mac ever made :p

So, if you´re a lady (i speculate :p) and you don´t game a lot .. base 27¨ will do anything you throw at it.

Be thankful you don´t like games .. gaming is the most expensive and hardly give something in return but fun and satisfaction .. yet many people love it :D
