Hi guys,

Which adapter would be best to use with a MBA and a Dell U2410 monitor?

A mini-display port to DVI adaptor?
A mini-display port to HDMI adaptor?
Something else?

Thanks!

Mini-Display port to DVI adaptor would work best. HDMI supports audio but not all of the resolutions that DVI supports. Also your monitor does not support audio.

Monoprice - get a mini DP to DP cable if you don't want to deal with adapters.

U2410 does have an audio out that works with DP and HDMI.

I have the U2410 and 2011 MBP (15"). The U2410 does have an audio out that can be connected to the Dell speaker bar if you have one. HDMI and Displayport both work for this. However, the Mini DP to DP cable doesn't work for me, but this problem seems to be limited to the new Thunderbolt MBP.

I would recommend mini to DVI because its more likely you'll run into monitors with DVI more often compared to HDMI.

Check out Amazon. They carry them for about $7-15 and you can use Prime Shipping :)

Yep, I have hooked up HDMI to the U2410 and the audio is passed to the 1/8" headphone/line mini-jack to hook up any external speakers.
