I’m hoping it’s the 30W but my guess is it will be the rumored 18W. Will certainly be better than what ships now But 30W would be the best, especially for the 12.9” Pro.

If these new iPad Pros are equipped with USB-C, most likely 18W. If they're still lightning, no change from what currently ships.

My guess is 18W. We did see a rumour and mockups of an 18W USB-C charging block right? Given that it never showed up with the new iPhones I imagine it's intended purpose is for the new iPad Pro.

Instead of trying to guess why not wait the less than 24 hours for Apple to announce if there are no iPads and what they will use.

Excellent idea. Why waist time speculating for the next few hours, just wait what tomorrow’s thing brings and discuss real product questions then.

Because that's half the fun of it, speculating. Don't rain on our parade.

And I'm pretty sure it will be the 18W we saw in the past. The big question is will it have a lightning plug or USB C plug on the iPad.

Bah. 30W charger would be better. Unfortunately Apple’s margins trump customer experience. :(

In all honesty, I’d rather have a lower wattage charger like 18W for day to day use. I have 12W and 29W with my 12.9” iPad Pro. I only use the 29W when I need to quickly charge, otherwise I usually use 12W overnight every few days.

People don’t seem to understand that a lower wattage is better for the battery.

I’d suspect Apple will ship a 12W charger, historically Apple has only increased power when needed (iPad 3 was too power hungry and drained on 10W so iPad 4 shipped with 12w, now it’s both 12/10w randomly as they both charge fine due to efficiency improvements).

The iPad Pro 2nd gen can charge when watching video using a 5W charger with good screen brightness, with a 12w charger I have never been able to get the battery level to go down (unlike the first gen which drained like a sieve unless it was on a 29w charger), Apple focused on making the processor more efficient instead of simply throwing in a faster charger that whichever way you cut it, is gonna wear the battery out faster, I’d say thats a win.
