Which animation program for making apps?

Hi,
I am developing my first iphone/ipad app and have created all the visuals, but am unsure which is the best animation program to use to add some movement, could anyone advise me on this? I have also created my graphics in Photoshop, is this ok, or are vectors recommended? Is there any other key things or advice anyone could give me? I am planning to hire a developer to do the programming, so need to get it ready for that stage.
