I have an early 2008 Mac Pro with a Radeon 2600. The card is starting to go - spinning up and causing panics and also displaying crazy lines when doing some pic work. I've cleaned the card multiple times and the problems haven't gone away. So I've decided to upgrade the card to get some more life out of the machine. Been looking at Radeon 5770's, it seems there are different version of this card - one with DVI and two mini display ports, the other with 2 DVI, HDMI and display port. Will the 2nd card with HDMI work? Most of the info I've come across doesn't mention this card.

I am aware of the power cable and possible EFI issues.

I actually just installed the Radeon 5770 with two DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort today. I did not have any issues once I had installed a fresh copy of Mavericks on a a new SSD that I got from Amazon yesterday.

Excellent, thanks!

You are most welcome! I tried flashing mine the other day so that I could see the boot screens so that I can switch between Linux, etc. That didn't go so well, and I'll be working to 'unbrick' the card. It worked great before I messed with it though.
