Which case should I get for my u2 Ipod I just ordered?

I just order the u2 video Ipod. Now it time for a case.

I found three from google searches I like but not sure if they are worth the money.


Carbon Fiber one is $50, the other one is $89 ((but reviews says $65 , might of been a price increase recently). The u2 cross one is $40, seems bulky

These cases cost almost the same as my G2 10GB I used to have, before i sold it with my Ti Powerbook in Feb. Paid $99 for it from Apple.

I'd say if any one, go for the Cross.

The other ones, like cases do, cover up the ipod and give it a look of it's own, but for the most part, you're not buying a U2 ipod for the screen, but more for the color scheme, the cool black metal back, the signatures, and all the U2y goodness.

The Cross seems bulkier, but not unbearably so, and preserves the color scheme that goes with a U2 ipod. It'd seem to be an awful waste to shell out the dough for the U2 ipod and then cover it up...
 
personally i think the u2 ipod is hideous, let alone their music.

i would choose the cross as well (assuming you just pick from the pictures you provided), otherwise I'd go for a clear one.
 
i dont really like any of these cases, but out of them, the cross suits the U2 so much more. It goes with the colour scheme.

My ones coming on Tuesday :D :D

well you may as well just go with the apple leather ipod case as it seems to be the most appropriate based on the purchase.

(honestly, i was just wondering why they make overpriced versions of already arguably overpriced products. now i know. people buy them.)

Check the prices of old U2 Ipods they hold their value well. Before this release they were selling for over retail.

$299 compared to $269... It worth the extra money to get the video, plus its solid black ipod. Ipod over priced? what should I buy a Zen?

The Leather Apple Ipod case is $99 + tax. so $108 so almost double.



The clear case is is $30 with tax, and scratches easily.



Apple should sell sock in single packs

You think the u2 ipod looks bad... This case is $ 42.49, thats a waste of money...


I was just reading it comes with a case like my g2 ipod. I will probably just used that. I thought they were not giving them with ipods anymore.
 
I'd go for the carbon fiber, it looks cool.

Otherwise I'd get just a clear case, if you want to show off that you have a U2 iPod.

Covering a technological gadget in leather has always seemed a little weird. For the most part, we have moved past covering ourselves with animal hides, and it seems a little primitive to cover our most technological devices. That said, I really like the cool But I am a weirdo, and where the Nano on a lanyard. wooden cases.

For me, I have the Grass in green from Speck Products, and love it. But I am a weirdo, and where the Nano on a laynard.

The black grass case for the iPod video, with a red click wheel would look cool. Had them on sale.

Not sure how somebody can say the Ipod is over priced. If they were they wouldnt be selling so many of them. If anything they might be under priced.


I remember I paid over $300 for a portable CD player! or better yet the prices hard drives used to cost.

I will say it protects from Scratches very well. It's a pain to get on but my black nano is still scratch free after 6 months and the invisibleshield is JUST starting to get worn.

It's unbelievably resiliant. It will completely protect your ipod, except from impacts (like drops). And it has a lifetime warranty - if it ever scratches or scuffs, they send you a new one for free, no questions asked (I've tested that policy, and they really do).

I paid good money for an ipod (nano) in large part because it's so tiny and so beautiful. I want to preserve those qualities; I'd never want to hide my ipod behind some bulky, opaque case. The invisible shield is the perfect solution IMO.

Buy anything else at your own peril! ;)

Here, here. I didn't know about the scratch policy.

I have it under my Gree Grass Fun Skin. It really isn't a sticker, mroe of a strong piece of plastic with some thin gell on it.

I saw a podcast where they guy tries to remove it , and it look like it messed up the Ipod. I been looking for it now. Like the glue was still on the nano.

Not sure if anybody saw this. Guy was kinda strange like he had like 3-4 ipods. He must really love music. Also he tried to use water to remove the glue and damage the nano, so he brought another one.

Water shouldn't damage the nano body, nor should alcohol. the film removes, and judicious use of finger movement removes any residue and leaves a kind of bugar.

3-4 iPods, that's excessive.

By the way, I have no idea why anybody would criticisms another person for buying what they want. Stating why one would choose differently is differently than just insulting them. Don't take those people to heart.

as I mentioned, I had occasion to use the free exchange policy (because my leather case messed up the invisible shield :(). So I removed my invisible shield, and it did no damage to the ipod underneath. There was a little sticky residue, but it came right off.

also, water will not damage it as long as it's off at the time and you let it fully dry before turning it on again.

I got the u2 IPOD TODAY!!!!!, it comes with a case. But might be getting the yellowish one since the company offer a discount on the price.
 
vajacases.com makes some really nice leather cases. i got one for my 3G ipod and i love it. didnt get one for my 5G ipod though because its a little pricey ($60+) and takes a while to ship since its custom-made. if you're willing to drop the money then i HIGHLY recommend these. VERY well-designed and handcrafted. they also have cases for cell phones, pdas, etc. geez, i sound like a sales rep...

EDIT: they even have a case for the sony vaio laptops. if there was one for the MBs then the heat must get so high...

personally, i use the Belkin 'kickstand' one since it was fairly cheap and readily available at target.

I will probably not get the invisble sheild... I heard they are annoying to peel off. Just watch that podcast.


Apple store on 5th ave sells something simular for $15.
