First of all: are you a man or a woman?
Second: wouldn't you prefer stainless steel? As this is much more 'silvery' than the aluminium.
Your first question is just a quick way to load up a bunch of stereotyped notions that may or may not apply to the OP. Why should it matter? Your second question
substantially raises the price of the watch.
To the OP, it's all a matter of personal preference, as in "wear what you like". The aluminum watches have a brushed, or matte, finish, while the steel watches are highly reflective, shiny. The steel ones are also a bit heavier and somewhat more expensive, which may affect your choice.
Here's the question I see as having a bigger effect on your watch choice: how likely are you to end up with a bunch of bands? (And fair warning that collecting bands is a sickness, and a very addicting one at that.) If you're going to stick with the band the watch came with, or maybe get one or two sport bands, then any of the watches will do, pick whatever color appeals to you. If you are likely to end up buying a bunch of (Apple) bands to match outfits/accessories/occasions/mood, be aware that most of the leather bands come with (only) shiny silver-colored hardware, which looks great with the shiny stainless steel watch, and reasonable with the "silver" aluminum watch, but they clash with the gold, rose gold, space black, and space gray watches (these are effectively all second-class citizens as far as watch bands go). Similarly, the metal bands are available in "stainless" or black, and look good on the watches that are basically silver or black, but not so good on the gold or rose gold watches. Apple has an
Interactive Gallery for Apple Watch, where you can mix/match most (not aall) of the available watch and band combinations, to get an idea what they might look like together. This might be a factor for you, or it might not.
Check out the "
show off your watch" thread at the top of this sub forum for more interesting pics of different combinations, in a variety of real-world lighting conditions. (Though pics are a little sparse for a pics thread, and it's over 300 pages, and rose gold doesn't show up until past page 200.)
For the record, I'm a grown man with a Space Gray aluminum Apple Watch (original model), with entirely too many bands, and I've been known to wear Product Red or Light Pink sport bands (or sometimes one half of Mint and one half of Light Pink or Azure), because I'm more interested in entertaining my sense of whimsy than adhering to other people's fashion sense.
