Wait for the new MBP but which combo would you get.

1. MBP 17" and ACD 30"
2. MBP 17" and iMac 24"

This is for college and I have a MBP 17" but plan to hand it down.

Honestly? I'd get the Macbook 13" and an iMac 24" - you don't need two HUGE computers, do you?

Wow. That's some expensive stuff. If it were me, I'd get the MBP and iMac. But it depends somewhat on your planned uses.

i like this idea, as well. if you have a 24" at home (dorm, whatever), then why would you need or want to lug around 17" lappy as your portable? typically you'd get a 17" laptop to be a desktop replacement.. not a supplement.

but at any rate, it would help if you told us what you'll be using this stuff for.

Its for nothing special. Its just I been a mac user for a long time, 8 years and its nice to have a big screen where ever I go.

sounds like tough decisions. who's paying for this when you also have a 17" MBP that's only a few months old to hand down?
