Which FPS if any for Macbook?

Hi all - just bought my first Mac - luvin it! I didn't buy it for games but loved Medal of Honor on my old PC. Is there anyway I can run a playable MOH or any other FPS on my new shiny white 2.2ghz Macbook? I've got the full 4gig RAM (Thanks to crucial.com £84) if it makes any difference at all. I don't want to go back to Windows to please don't even mention the word hehe.:)

Call of Duty 2 - runs well with highest settings on a Macbook
Unreal Tournament 2004 - runs perfectly on high settings
Doom 3 - runs fairly well on lower settings with the Universal Binary update
Jedi Outcast/Academy - both run perfectly, the latter especially with the UB update
Undying - runs perfectly on highest settings

I'll let you know when I've tested a few other FPSs on my Macbook.

That's great - thanks guys. Kwub - keep me updated on your findings, I'll be interested to know what else you get running. I take it these are OS X versions straight off the shelf with no mods or tweaks needed?
 
My vote is for Call of Duty 2. It's a great game, especially if you enjoy WW2 shooters.
 
Go for UT2k4 first! Such a great game, i've owned it for 2 years now, and just played it earlier this week. This game can be played forever! I know people who still play UT '99

I've just been reading up on that Does it really work? All the time or does it depend what you're running? Could I run my PC MOH through it for my Macbook?

Excuse my ignorance - pretty new to all this.
 
I have used crossover to run CS:S and HL2 and HL2 Ep 1. It is an excellent program but I will admit that it doesn't run everything perfectly. Check the list of apps here.
 
Marathon!

Marathon! - Devloped by Bungie! Those weird noises the aliens make when they show up still creep me out. Plus, you could probably get 2000 fps in this bad boy.

UT 99! - Playing against 16 people with the Instagib is just... glorious, glorious madness.

Quake 3 Arena! Try playing this game while listening to Nine Inch Nails' "Closer". It will bring you closer to god.
 
Well I've ordered Call Of Duty 2 - should be delivered in the next couple of days. Will look at these others once I've had a play of that. Many thanks.

Caspar, please let us know how it runs. I have the same MacBook as you and would like to know the performance. I downloaded the Demo (OSX Version) and it ran very smoothly, but I just want to be sure everything else works before I buy.

Nice! Good calls on the classics. I was shown the new Marathon 3D conversion about half a year ago. Might work well on a MB. I'm playing with Freespace2 on my powerbook and it seems to run quickly, probably scroll like butter on your MB. I wonder if you can dig up the old Rainbow 6 multiplayer demo? Or one of my old favorites Close Combat: First to Fight which I think I will fire today.

(and dare I mention Halo?)

It runs perfectly Red Sox - no tweaks and on full details. I don't know how to measure frames per second on it but it seems to be at the speed I'd expect the game to run. If anyone can tell me how I can ascertain fps, I'll let you know just how fast. Go buy - it's great
 
One fun game is the original No One Lives Forever.

If you sneak around, you will get to hear all the hilarious conversations before you cap the bad guy.

Im yet to try these methods, but thanks for posting this link. Cant wait to try this.
 
Don't forget the open source world!

OpenArena - Fully free, GPL Quake 3 Arena clone. Very nice and fun.

BZFlag - Graphics aren't great, and there is a bit of a learning curve, though it is great fun.

Nexuiz - Haven't tried

Tremulous - A bit tricky at first but good team game

Sauerbraten - Haven't tried, though it's successor, Cube, was very nice.

Urban Terror - Which is a bit like CS, I think.

Those should keep you going for months.
