Bookshop!
The Maps app just isn't doing it for me any more, so I've decided I need a new GPS app.

Obviously, the big two contenders are TomTom and Navigon, and from what I can see, there really isn't much between them. From what I can understand from this chart, the only real difference is that TomTom offers more for folks with jailbroken iPhones. They are both the same price here in Australia ($99.95).

What preferences do you have?

Navigon + Google Search (or AroundMe) + fixed price Traffic (INRIX) + MyRoutes (soon) on a 3GS ... unbeatable!! :D:D

btw, where are you? ... not sure if INRIX covers global, and i assume Navigon MyRegion is not an option

... and NO, I did not just "copy & paste" my comment from those threads to this thread ... I "copy & paste & made a small edit" ... :p

There are several existing threads requesting the same opinions/information here, here, and here. And these are just a few of many...

The latter two of those threads were made after TomTom released their 1.3 update, which I understand was a substantial update and fixed many issues users had with the app. I have done google searches, but i've been having trouble finding information about the current versions, or people compare them to apps which only work in America.

Also, no-one had a poll ;)

navguy; I forgot I changed my location! I live in Australia.

GPS Drive

MotionX GPS Drive. I swore by AT&T Navigator on my BlackBerry but on the iPhone it was a little crippled and expensive. Drive is cheap as heck. Voice guided turn by turn is only $2mo. too. Integrates with contacts and is very, very accurate and fast.

Tom Tom

I purchased the TomTom USA app. Using for the first time on a road trip from San Diego to Phoenix for MLB Spring Training. It is easy to use, very accurate, and has met my expectations as we have used it.
