I see that the choice is this:

# NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 512MB
# ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB

There being a £40 difference, I suppose it's not going to hurt to get the Radeon card installed? I appreciate that the latter will cause a delay in delivery.

I will be doing photo editing.

Thanks.

Most will tell you that the GT 130 will be fine for what you are doing... You will have it in a few days.. You will be happy with it.... However, if you want to be a masochist, you can join those of us who ordered the 4850 and have no clue when it will ship....

The bitterness is strong in this one. :p

Seriously though, it is rather amazing that :apple: has these things working well enough to test them and provide their "benchmarks" about the graphics performance and then take another 2-3 months to actually ship the buggers.

Damn you, :apple:, damn you straight to hell!

we've waited this long for them to update the other internals. i just pretend that i've pre ordered it.

even though my sis-in-law got the 20in stock delivered wed and ordered on saturday.....

The GPU's not something you can change later... so it's futureproofing and/or improving eventual resale value to go for the 4850 :)

If you're just doing photo editing not even sure you need anything more than 9400M.

Yes the 4850 is all the hype!!!! join us in the waiting game:D
I can't wait till someone actually gets one and gives us a report.
Who will be first.......

Some say Snow Leopard will make use of the GPU processing power in using normal tasks. The GPU wil sorta function like a backup CPU, so if that's true, the 4850 will definately be worth is, as it has more processing power than the GT 130.
