The 4850 is actually a faster GPU but no DX11.

My mistake. So, then the 2009 quad-core above really should be well worth the extra $90, correct? Or am I missing something else?

And you'll be using this machine for... what exactly?

Since I know what I'm using my computer for, and since I know MY personal preferences, I'd pick the 27" iMac i5. And guess what: That's the computer on my desk, and it's a real beauty. And I have reasons why I chose a quad core CPU over a dual core processor.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not a gamer really, but primarily for photo and video editing, CAD, and the usual office/web browsing of course.

For 90 bucks I think it's defiantly worth it. Quad vs Dual makes a big deference IMO.
