Hey guys I've been looking for some time which iMac should I choose, basically I need the best machine I can afford (3D stuff and rendering), so I end up with getting either an older 27''/21,5'' with C2D or newer 21,5'' with i3 inside.

When I go for the C2D model, I would be able to stuff it with load of RAM and possibly even a SSD.

I could't do the same with i3, that comes with 4GB RAM.

What you guys think? I am probably going to get a used or refurbished one, as long as it's in a good condition.

The question is what solution makes more sense, how big the differnce between C2D and i3 is and how does it affect the performance of the machine, 'cos I would believe RAM and SSD is much more important than whether you have 3.06 C2D or 3.06 i3.
Maybe I am wrong, any ideas or experiences?
Thanks!

Ok I get it, everybody asks that kind of question here, you gotta be sick of it, but really, no hint?

Thanks, I've been just going through that one, considering to wait a little to save a little more money and get an older i5…makes sense. new 2010 i3 models are pricy
