hi my neightbor is selling his two imacs.

1) iMac G4
320GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM and to Leopard operating systems. It has the G4 processor. it also comes with speakers and video cam. and wireless network connection.
$350

2) iMac G5
iMac G5 17" 2GB Ram 150GB HDD Bluetooth Superdrive Built in iSight Webcam Remote
$450

which one should i get? im really confused on why the G5 has less HDD memory than the G4. i would have thought that it would at least have 200GB. my macbook has a 160 HDD.... anywho is there any way i can add more HDD? another thing is that i do have an external drive that is 1T (terabyte) so not sure if that helps. one last question i promise, i upgraded my macbook ram to 3 GB it had 2 GB but i did not know that Apple put 2 1GB sticks in there so now i have 1GB stick of ram, i was wondering if i can use that on one of those iMacs?

Personally, I'd use the MacBook as my main computer, and buy the G4 for collecting proposes. But if you're planning on using the iMac as a primary computer, go for the G5. HDD is always upgradable. And RAM is always more important than HDD, especially since the G4 is maxed out at 1GB, while the G5 comes with 2GB and can go up to 3.

well it is just that i get very annoyed having to hook up my cables (the tablet, and the external drive) to my macbook and then unhooking them when ever i want to use it outside my room very annoying. so i want a desktop computer so i can use it only in my room. my macbook will be used where ever i want inside the house like it is meant to be used :]. where can i buy HDD upgrade? and is it difficult to install? like i asked before can i use my macbook's ram stick on the G5 imac model?

You will be dissapointed with the G5s speed.

And sorry, the G5 takes full size ram sticks. http://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/Upgrades.cfm?model=233

I think hes asking $100 too much for either of them.

Just as an example -- Heres an Intel iMac, also $450 right now with an hour left -- it will eat the G5 for lunch.

Putting a larger drive in your MB is cake, 10 minutes tops.
