All iPads Which iPad do you think Apple will support for longer: the M1 iPad Pro or the iPad Mini 6?

Do you think the iPad mini 6 will get longer support since it has a newer chipset in the A15 vs. The 2020 M1 chip that was put into the iPad Pro in 2021?

Probably M1. But then, I don't see how each device couldn't go past 5-7 years. At that point, I'd rather get a new machine.

Within 5 years you’ll want to upgrade it anyway so this is a non-issue

RAM amount seems to count for a lot in on-going iPadOS updates. The 8GB/16GB RAM M1 Pros will likely receive longer software support than any Mini, Air, or Generic iPad that are released after the Pro with less than 8GB RAM.

If one device gets longer support, it will be the more powerful iPad Pro.

That is, if the company survives the class action lawsuit that somebody claimed they’re preparing.

That's likely the answer, not this more expensive M1 based product will be likely supported longer thought versus the A15 mini. What normally is supported longer on the iPad is a product that is far enough ahead with its feature set that it won't be impacting any future update especially Cellular/WiFi/Bluetooth standards. If you look at the iPad Family right now, the three most progressive models are the M1 iPad Pro 12.9 5th gen, M1 iPad Pro 11 3rd gen, and the new A15 iPad mini 6 gen. The poll doesn't allow the option to state that.

iPad Pro for sure. The Mini is a parts bin device that’s whole purpose is to generate massive profits to keep the shareholders happy.

It's more than just getting bug fixes that never should've been present. Mini 6 has half to a fourth of the RAM so user experience will be better and longer on the iPad Pro M1 with 8GB and 16GB RAM.
