If (doubtful) Apple ever decided to take the form factor of the current iPad Pro and apply it to the Mini, which version would you rather see? Expand the screen (same size) or remove the bezels (smaller size)?
Same size, expanded screen with Apple Pencil 2 support and a keyboard folio case that has a magnetic flap that wraps over the pencil to keep it from falling off when being carried in crowded bags.
The former for sure. The footprint is fine, but expanded screen would make it oh so slightly more useful than it already is.
I don’t believe it should get the Pro moniker however. Or well the iphones got it without any reason whatsoever but I digress. With an iPad pro I’d expect a useful keyboard folio with it as well and the size just can’t support that.
They can’t keep the bezel-less designs exclusive to the pro forever, though. In 3 or so years when the sales and service industries cry for an upgrade I expect too see the bezel-less ipad mini 6th gen

Exactly what the 5th generation Mini is but no bezel, FaceID with no notch. I think the form factor of the mini is just perfect. The pro just has the ‘nice to have features’.
The mini will need to lose the home button and work with the current pencil before I buy one. I love the size for preforming weddings/funeral type things, or even YouTube. Hate the size for web browsing or docs. But I’m just not going back to a home button and gen 1 Pencil. Zero reason for me to have to own and carry around both pencils. My old iPhone X lost the home button.. not buying new old tech.
That being said, a mini pro style design would take my money.
Why larger screen? The current screen size if perfect. But Apple could've at least trim out the bezels to match the dimensions of the mini 2 (yes, the mini 5 is larger physically than the mini 2 despite having the same screen size).
Oh and I'd rather have quad speakers than larger screen. If I wanted a larger screen, I'll buy the regular sized iPad, not an iPad MINI.
I don’t care about increasing screen size, but I do care if the mini gets heavier. It’s the perfect weight as it is, and I can hold it for reading without fatigue. If they can drop the bezels, increase the screen size in the same form factor, AND maintain the current weight, i’ll bite.
