This is another one of those "which x of the iPhone 16 are you getting" kind of posts, but it'll be fun seeing what everyone gets.
Lemme start. 512GB, Pro Max.

256 PM. My 256 15PM only has 100GB full and I do a ton of video and photo, so I’m not sure how that is haha. But I have no need to get more storage. I upgrade every year now and I don’t expect to use 150GB in a year.

Probably 256 again this year. Using about half of the capacity of my 256 15 Pro

128gb I never use all of it except when I'm on vacation but then I'll just purchase iCloud for 1 month and once I'm home I just transfer the pictures to my few external drives. Hopefully the 16 Pro stays at $999

Just cleared all my unused apps, took me forever lol. I’m down to 65gb used, so, that 256 pro max will be more than enough.

I made a lot of 4K videos this summer on my iPhone 15 Pro 256 GB and it is only half full, so will probably stay with 256 GB on the iPhone 16 Pro. Will only update if the 16 Pro has WiFi 7.

I’m definitely getting 256 GB this time. With all the space these new games take up and the addition of emulators, it’s time for a storage upgrade.

due to my 60gb+ music library and now 110gb+ photo library, i’m currently struggling with 256gb. got like 6gb left (have some cleaning to do)

however apple makes it $200 to upgrade from 256gb to 512gb which is too much for me. If it was $100 to upgrade i’d seriously consider it but I doubt Apple will decrease their storage upgrade prices :(

If I upgrade, I'll stick with 1TB as I have a lot of media on my iPhone. In the future if 8K video becomes more of a standard thing then I imagine 2TB might be the next upgrade. I'll never forget getting a computer back in the day when the salesperson scoffed at me ever being able to fill a 10GB drive. That happened within a year.

It would but I’d like more of my 25k+ photos and videos accessible on my phone, and 128GB will delete most.

I’m curious, how much of your actual iPhone storage is the Photos app using?

I also have a 2TB iCloud storage plan with 25k+ photo library (560GB of iCloud space) and Photos is only using 7GB of storage on my 256GB phone. And my phone is currently showing 177GB free.

Unless I’m zooming all the way in, I can’t see a discernible difference in photos, and old videos start playing in hi-res within seconds so I don’t have any issues with how the Photos app is behaving, but I’d argue that more of the photos should be available offline, unless the space is actually needed.

Since I have iCloud storage plan, each year I toy with the idea of dropping down to 128GB and each year I go with 256. This year may be the one where I actually go with 128.
