Hey guys

I have an iPod Touch 2G already and I'm buying my MBP soon and I get an iPod with it. My plan is to choose an iPod, pay whatever extra I need to pay, then keep it in the unopened in the box. That way I can wait and see what comes from the Apple announcements in September. If I like the new iPods more, I can sell the one(s) I have on eBay and buy one of the new range, if not, I can keep it and use it, or sell it and have the cash.

What are your thoughts on which iPod would be best to get for this purpose and maybe any idea of what I could get for it (£).

Thanks

Just a word of caution, when the new iPods come out, I think its only natural that the 2nd gen iPod touches will lose a bit of value.

Might be worth selling before they come out.

You honestly don't think you'll like the new iPods more?

Hmm, I did think about that too. I'm thinking that if I love the new ones, I'm going to need to upgrade anyways, because I only have an 8GB 2G Touch and my collection is now >15GB.

But if I was to get another iPod Touch, obviously I'd sell it and keep the money.

sell everything now, and if you don't like the new iPods you can still pick up an old generation new at apple or macmall or something for a discounted price.

Yes--I say sell the unopened new iPod now, hang onto the money, then around September, sell your old 2G as well, to replace it with the next-generation Touch :)

As for which iPods have the best value right now, I don't know--check eBay and compare to what it would cost you.
