I have an 8GB iPhone running 1.1.4 and I am an ATT customer. I have never unlocked or Jailbroken my iPhone.

So all I want to do is Jailbreak my iPhone, get the installer, and all the required apps, subsytems, fixes, etc that everyone talks about on here.

1. Most people seem to prefer ZiPhone. But does it install all the fixes automatically, or do I have to use the installer afterwards?

2. I have done some research on iPlus and it looks to do everything I would want. Jailbreak and install everything I need. What iPlus command would I use just to do a Jailbreak and insure all fixes get installed?

3. Also saw a new program out called iLiberty. Looks like iPlus with a nice GUI. But seems newer than ZiPhone or iPlus.

4. I have heard that some 3rd party apps will not work with 1.1.4, but there is some fix out there?

So what is the groups recommendation?

Thanks much in advance...

GW

I'm at&t user that had never done anything with his phone and was at 1.1.4
used ziphone and am not happily using a jailbroken phone, stop waiting and just do it...

ZiPhone

Do yourself a HUGE favor and just use ZiPhone. I am a legit iPhone / AT&T customer and thats what i did. it makes the iphone worth the money you spent on it.....every penny. Dont waste any more time!! DO IT ALREADY!!!
if you got questions hit me up @ Phazer001@gmail.com ill walk you thru it even tho its simple as ***** =)

I echo this statement. Have had my iphone since August of last year. Have mulled over the thought of jailbreaking many, many times, but too worried something would go wrong. Finally decided to try it 2 days ago. Used ziphone, 1min later it was done and I was installing things from the installer.app. Super easy, you cant mess it up. Just remember to run a restore on the phone first.

When you see something like this, now can you not do it? :) Ive installed and tried many themes, and this one is handsdown the best looking one Ive seem. Of course that is subjective to the user.

I am an AT&T customer..I have a question.. whats with this downgrade/upgrade bootloader ?
I used to have 1.1.3(otb) but now upgraded to 1.1.4 ..so if i use ziphone and jailbreak it will i be able to get it restore back to the original firmware..I read that if the bootloader is downgraded to 3.9 then it cant be upgraded to 4.6??

Any help guys..

BTW the theme is too kool.. Which theme is that?

I like that theme VoodooDaddy. What is it called and what source did it come from? Like to try it on mine.

Don't bother with the bootloader, just jialbreak it. don't change the bootloader at all.

the theme is Gates Bluize, I believe.:p

I had the same question. I was going to wait for the official SDK, but since the SDK won't actually let me load software onto my iPhone, I decided to Jailbreak. I followed your advice and ran ziphone (jailbreak only) and it couldn't have been easier.

I just hope I can revert back to the un-jailbroken 1.1.4 before 2.0 comes out... that shouldn't be a problem should it?

Nope, not at all, just restore it.:p

ZiPhone Worked

Tried iPlus, but wouldn't work. It just hung on the last step and my iPhone just kept the "circling time clock" and would not do the final reboot. Restored and tried it twice with no luck.

Restored and did Ziphone. Worked great the first time. Thanks everyone.

The first time i used ziphone (on my own phone) it worked flawlessly, yet ive tried again both on my friends ipod touch, and my brother-in-laws 1.1.3 iphone and both times it succesfully completes the jailbreak but installer is nowhere to be found on the home screen. Anyone have a clue as to what is going wrong?

Thanks a lot everything was fine..
I did the jailbreak and it worked like a charm but was not able to do sync with itunes...so restored back to 1.1.4 and in ziphone clicked refurbish which restored back and then jailbreak again..now everything is fine and i cud install few themes ...

Edit: Earlier i got an new update for the installer so installed that.. but this time i dint installed the new update for the installer..Is that causing the problem?
In future can i update the installer or jus leave it?

Once again it was very very easy to do it..

I just chose jailbreak and dint do anything with the bootloader..

After using ziphone's jailbreak the bootloader automatically downgrades to 3.9 :(

Is there anyway to upgrade the bootloader back to 4.6?

How did you jailbreak it? Did you click the jailbreak button or did you go to advanced options and only have jailbreak checked? Either way, if it did downgrade your bootloader to 3.9, you cant reupgrade it...

Ok, I a trying to figure out what the problem is with downgrading to 3.9 bootloader. Why would I need to reupgrade the bootloader?

If I use my iPhone unlocked on T-mobile for a few months, then switch to AT&T, and want to be legit I just restore and go through normal activation right?

I just clicked the jailbreak button and dint go to the advance features at all... so now even if i restore it back to original firmware..the bootloader wont be changed back to original one??
