Hello,

I'm trying to buy a new (old) 15" macbook pro, I'm most likely going to buy it from a second hand selling site Trademe.co.nz (I'm in New Zealand)

The two models which i've got my eye on both have different ups and downs. I'm hoping someone here can help me choose what the better option is and how much i should spend on it.

Option 1 (2014 Retina)

Option 2 (2012 Retina)

Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.

Which has been upgraded to include 500Gb SSD

But's it's more expensive, at $2675 NZD

The 2014 is by far the best deal, best graphics, 16Gb of ram and a newer chipset I'd go for that in a heartbeat.

The 2012 is overpriced, even if it did just have the screen replaced.

Definitely go with the 2014 over the 2012. Nothing wrong with the older model, but I think the 2014 model represents a better value imo
