Hello, consider between MBP2018 512 vs. 1TB. On my current 1TB SSD in MBP 2010, it has 600GB for Mac OS and 400GB for Windows. Any good programs for both Mac OS and Windows, perhaps with graphics, that show the file sizes so that I can easily spot which files are occupying lots of space to determine if I can move them to an external drive?

Apple - Disk Inventory X
Windows - WinDirStat

Those are the apps I use.

Would this not help you enough?

Omni DiskSweeper is fast, free, and easy. Does a great job sorting everything by size, including invisible files.

Like some other disk sizing tools, be aware that some very specific files need root access to be seen (and accounted for). A couple ways around this, if needed. Pretty rare to have to need to use these additional steps though.

I use GrandPerspective. It's like Disk Inventory X but updated more recently. You can download it for free, and it's also available on the App Store for $1.99 (essentially a donation).
