Which is the best: Slvr or Rockr

Hey-
I have a Rockr E1. For me the phone is only good for calling people. My plan is almost over and I wanted to know if the Slvr is any good. I really like the idea of having iTunes on a phone. So I was just wondering is the Slvr is better than the rockr.

As far as iTunes the SLVR has pretty much the same features and limitations at the ROKR in a sexier package.

The SLVR has USB headphones (totally bad call). The ROKR has 2.5mm sterio headphones (even worse call).

This limits you to motorolas headphones exclusively....and nothing else.

The both have a max of 100 songs...

In summary, they are both extremely limited use-wise, to the point where they are in no way even remotely an ipod.

I have a SLVR and it comes with a mini-USB adaptor that plugs into the phone and allows you to connect any headphones you want.

I use my Apple in-ear headphones with my SLVR.

As for the phone itself, it's hand down the best phone I've ever head. Calls come in crystal clear, no reception problems, no problems making or receiving calls. Yes, you are limited to 100 songs, but I'm not using this phone as an iPod substitute. It's just nice to have if you don't have room to carry your iPod.

What if you lose this adapter? How annoying! Can't it just have a regular 3.5mm output like every other mp3 player in the past 10 years?

It's as if they don't want to sell these phones!

well I've got a RAZR which is basically the flip phone version of the SLVR, and Ilove it, so if the SLVR is anything like the RAZR I'd say go for it, its an awesome phone and its so cool!

I'd check out http://www.motomodders.net/ and play around with some new firmwares and packs and stuff, if you're planning on getting a new phone anyway. Check out their forums (ROKR forum) and see if there's anything interesting to you. If you find something you like, you might just keep your old phone. I have the e398, same as your rokr but without the itunes, and after I updated stuff on my phone, got USB memory card support, nice speed improvements, and managed to get iSync working again.

Just a suggestion if you're planning on getting a new one, and if you have the USB cable already.

Oh, and ALWAYS make a backup before you start messing around, in case anything goes wrong or you just plain don't like the pack you upgraded to!

I suggest not getting a Motorola.

Look into Sony Ericsson's line of walkman phones. I have a SE w810i and love it, and the interface is awesome, while Motorola's UI is absolute trash.

And SE phones don't have that dumb 100 song limit.

if you want an iTunes phone that's more like a real iPod, just do this(takes some time and dedication):
1. Install Linux and Podzilla on to iPod
2. attatch sattelite modem card via dock connector(hard part)
3. install skype
4. get skype in and skype out
To really go overboard, stick in a touchscreen, and you've got a iPod/iPhone/iTablet that can even act as a mobile server!

just as someoen previously said, there have been hacked versions of itunes that allows up to 1000 songs. So if your feeling confidant, and have a pc id look into getting a cracked version of itunes on the phone, then its really like a SLVR nano.
