Windows ME all the way. Vista had a very rough start, but once drivers started becoming widely available, and SP1 came out, it became perfectly solid, to the point you wouldn't be able to tell any difference between it and the always adored Windows 7 in performance.

ME? Uh uh. It came out sucking, and continued to suck until MS abandoned it not even two years later. There was no fixing it.

Windows ME. I was working tech support out of Tucson, leading up to and including the XP launch, and the horrors we had to go through when getting calls from disgruntled ME users.

I was fortunate to have missed the OS 10.0 run, my little brother was a Mac user then, and he has more than a couple horror stories.

Windows ME takes the cake. I became a trouble shooting expert because of that OS. BSOD and reinstalling drivers was a normal occurrence. So was messing with the Reg keys.

Vista at second place for the worst. It didn't crash much, but even Windows ME was quicker than slow motion Vista.

Another vote for ME. Had it on a system I bought a decade or so ago, was awful for crashing as already stated and getting peripherals to work properly could be hit and miss.

Don't mind Vista though, works fine on my old Sony laptop, I just made sure I kept up with the updates.

I can't really say which OS is the worst, since I haven't used every OS under the sun.

The worst OS I've had the misfortune of being inflicted was Windows 1. Slow, slow performance, clunky interface, just plain bad.

I never used ME, so maybe I'd have different thoughts if I had. But Win95 for me. Utterly worthless. 98 and ME were just extensions of it.

Can't help but think everyone crying out against ME never took a look at Bob.

Microsoft BOB, despite being ****ing awful, wasn't an Operating System. It was an explorer.exe shell replacement for Windows 95 (and 3.1 too I think).

Flat makes me so mad...

Agreed. I don't know why the answer to "No more skeumorphism" is "flat"

On topic: Windows ME was so bad. Vista was too bulky, but worked well once the drivers were available on the right machine. I wasn't an Apple user for any of the OSX prior to Snow Leopard.
