Which Mac OSX versions is iOS 14 compatible with?

I don't know why this information has been hard to find online. But I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 14 but have an older Mac OS and got a dialog box about needing a "software update" and I'm assuming they mean a Mac OS udpate? Before I do I wanted to check what was the minimum Mac OS and/or iTunes is needed to connect to an iOS 14 iPhone.... does anyone know?

Ok the "software update" was just something little and my iOS 14 iPhone is working with my Mac OSX 10.12! phew!
