I am looking to get a MacBook Pro for my schoolwork but also for gaming (such as WoW). Anyone have any reccomendations on which model I should get. I am probably not going to be able to purchase another computer for at least 2 or 4 years so I want it to be able to handle the graphics of games yet to come.

the only consideration is portable... if you dont need portability buy the 17inch for all intensive purposes it's cheaper and will look better for games.

I would go with a 15" MacBook Pro with the following specs-
-2.16GHz Intel Core Duo
-2GB DDR SDRAM (the 1GB that comes standard + 1GB of RAM from www.datamem.com ).
-100GB 7200rpm HDD.

If you seldom need to go mobile, then I say to go with a 17" MacBook Pro. It has the same specs for ~$100 less. :)

For the 15": Get the 2.0GHz model or higher, as much hdd as your budget allows, and upgrade RAM from www.crucial.com

Get 2GB of RAM in there.

For the 17": Get the only model, upgrade hdd, buy RAM from crucial.

Good luck!

the MBP i not exactly the ideal gaming machine but w/e specs you get as long as it bears the name MBP, you will be fine

Thank you guys

the only real travelling i will be doing with it is to school or a friends housre otherwise im keeping it home. i will probably just go with the 17" then unless budget interferes.

Sounds like you will be very happy with a 17" MacBook Pro. You will let us know when you buy one. Good luck on your purchase when you make it lucasban. :)
