I now have two iPhones. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 13. Both are the unlocked version directly from Apple.

iPhone 12 Pro can get me $600 trade-in directly from Apple. (which is fine with me, since I'm about to buy a Macbook soon)

iPhone 13 can be sold for about $600.... more or less. It was purchased 3 months ago. Still in perfect condition.

I only need one phone and can't decide which to keep. Camera not really important to me. Can't tell any difference in speed between the two phones for the things that I used them for.... Both are 128gb, obviously....

Any suggestions appreciated.

If you don’t really care about the camera I’d say keep the 13, you’ll get (potentially) an extra year of software updates and better battery life.

Should be a pure aesthetic call.
Frosted Glass vs Normal
Steel vs Aluminum
3 cameras look better than two
LIDAR is stupid good for measure app (I use only this for LIDAR)
Oh also, you get 6GB ram in the pro which is the biggest deal. No more safari tabs reloading or apps restarting. Keep the 12 Pro would be my suggestion. Decide what works for you. if the 13 had 6GB and 12P 4 then id have suggested 13 even with aesthetic shortcomings.

The 13 will hold its value longer than the 12 Pro, so I'd dump the 12 Pro now. (This can be seen by comparing the previous two generations. Apple's current trade in value for the iPhone 12 is $420, and the iPhone 11 Pro is $350.) If value isn't concern, then it basically comes down to aesthetics as mentioned.

I know you said the camera isn't important to you, but do you find yourself using the 2x telephoto lens on the 12 Pro often? If so, maybe keep the 12 Pro. If not, you probably won't notice much of a difference with the 0.5x and 1x lenses that are on both.

Btw, it seems that the 12 Pro may have dropped to $550. (Or where are you seeing the $600?)

oh man... when I posted this thread yesterday, it was still showing $600 for the 12 Pro and $700 for the 12 Pro Max. Can't believe that they lowered the prices by $50 in less than 24 hours. :(

I returned it because I couldn't stand the weight. :(

The iPhone 12 Pro was inherited because my father passed away suddenly a couple of months ago. :(
Nothing to add to the discussion, just wanted to send condolences for the loss of your father.

It has been very sad for two months. For almost 17 years, there have been no deaths in my family or friends. Then since December, my father passed away suddely. Then my best friend's aunt... then my other friend's father... then my friend/lawyer's grandma.... then my best's friend's friend... all within less than 2 months...

My condolences man. Life’s unpredictable and we are transient
