2.2g stock SR

Prices in Australia are rather crappy compared to the USA, the stock SR 2.2 costs about $2439US. I badly wanted the 2.4ghz but seeing the posts regarding kernel panics, heat issues (although mine does run rather hot but no errors) and being a rather intensive user I think i'm glad about my purchase now.. that and its a business expense so I don't think I could justify it to the taxman!

I just wanted to keep it easy and not getting people confused by giving them 52 options, besides I am just curious if there are more 15'' or 17'' MBP owners here. :)
 
I bought the 2.4 15" Glossy. So far it is beyond my expectations, and I am glad for what it costs. :)

I chose the 2.4 because it had the 2.4 cpu, the 256mb vram which to me is minimum, and the bigger HD too. All in all I saw the 2.4 a better value for my needs and when I worked out the upgrades costs, it seemed about right in line with the purchase price differential.
 
There seems to be many more 15'' MBP owners on this forum than 17'' buyers.

So for most people LED > HD, or maybe they like a smaller screen duo the better mobility.

Two main factors for me in my decision to buy the 15" over the 17" were, the new LED screen (Glad I opted for it) and portability. I currently had a new Dell 17" e1705 laptop and while having the screen real estate was great, it is not very portable really. So before I chose which MBP I would buy, I considered these two factors and now I am glad I got the 15" screen. I also have a Viewsonic VA912b DVI monitor which I have connected to my MBP when it is on the desk. While I think the viewsonic is a nice monitor, it does not hold a candle to the MBP LED screen and I find myself not even using it and instead using only the built in screen. Do you think the Apple displays will have the LED soon?
 
i sold my white c2d macbook to get a 15" 2.2 ghz macbook pro. i also got a nano and printer for free, which i'm planning to sell. overall, it's gonna cost $550 to upgrade, and i think that price is very much worth it for the bigger led backlit display and dedicated graphics. i'm almost completely happy with my decision, but i have't gotten it yet. :eek:
 
Tomorrow I am going to the Apple store and will see if the LED really beats the HD-res for me! :)

I bought the 2.2 15" MBP with Matte Screen w/160gb 5400 rpm HD.

Partly for price, partly for what I'll use it for.

I didn't want the MB b/c I want the option in the future to have more then 2GB of ram, wanted the bigger screen and the better ability to run an external monitor in the future.

Choose matte b/c it's easier to keep clean, and wanted as much HD space without sacrificing RPM but didn't want to wait for the 7200rpm model.
