Which MBP to upgrade to

I currently have the mid 2014 MBP i7 2.5ghz with 16GB Ram and 500GB SSD and its been brilliant since new.

I have just started editing 4K video and it deals with this fine however when I add titles / luts or motion fx titles it struggles and drops frames but does get there in the end.

I'm trying to balance spend versus performance gain and wondered what the minimum spec MBP I would need in order to see substantial gain.

A question:
When first loading your 4k clips, are you using the option to create "proxy media"?
It makes things go much smoother.

Not sure, i'll check does that help with the rendering etc?
