Sorry if I'm asking a really silly question. I have read through A LOT of threads and there seems to be different ways to unlock your iphone. I have an iphone that didn't come with 1.1.1 but was upgraded to 1.1.1. Which is the best/easiest way to have the phone unlocked? I don't care too much about being able to use third-party apps; just interested in being able to use the phone in Asia. Thanks.

Easiest way: (don't even have to plug it in a computer)
Do the trick to get the browser and wifi in unactivated state
Go to jailbreakme.com, and use the tiff exploit, it will activate and put installer on the springboard
Add the repo to get anysim on the phone
Use anysim to unlock

Instructions:

1. If you have previuosly unlocked your 1.0.2 phone (if not skip this step) go here

2. After doing that, or if you have a never unlocked 1.1.1 phone, do this

Easy ;)

which is one is better ? I've heard that there are some problems with the jailbreakme.com method

jailbreakme.com method worked flawlessly with mine, but if problems arise (which shouldn't if you do everything correctly), just chime in and you can use the "old-school" iNdependence method.
