Apple refurb mini (silver) for $182 w/tax or brand new mini (silver) for $193 w/tax?

If I got the older, refurb, it includes the firewire cable and charger. But, the new one would have sweet battery life. Any other differences?

Can you charge over USB 2.0 on my iBook when it is sleeping? I can with my iPod (3g) now over firewire...

Would you keep your 3G? If so, you have the Firewire cable already, so I'd go with the new one. If not, the refurb is a better deal - assuming you'd end up buying a Firewire cable and charger. I don't know if USB2.0 charging would work while your iBook is asleep... sorry!

No, I am selling my iPod 3G. I'm doing this because the warranty on that is up very soon. I don't want to have a iPod that isn't under warranty, nor do I want to spend $50, money is low right now. So I basically want to trade for a mini, to tide me over until new attractive 5G models come out.

I can't live without an iPod

Well, I suppose that, with the hefty new battery life, you could charge it while your iBook isn't sleeping and it should last all day.

If it were me, I'd pick the newer one for the battery life. But the important thing is that either one will make you happy, so don't keep second guessing yourself and just get one already! ;)

I don't know about iBooks, but my rev a PB has power to the USB when asleep...at least when its plugged in it does, I don't think I've tried it unplugged.
