There's a great range in price for these things($89 and up).
The Spyder 2 seems to have good reviews/recommendations.

Which do you recommend for both my laptop's screen and my external Dell lcd monitor?
I use Illustrator/Photoshop for sign and print design.

Thanks!

I own a Spyder2Pro Studio package and it has done a great job in color calibration.

I also looked at the huey, eyeone (pantone.com) and the spyder 2, which would also work great. What made me decide on the spyder2 pro was the unlimited gamma and temperature choices, ambient light detection, custom color targets and multiple monitor support. If you can live without those, either the eyeone or spyder 2 would do great.

I have heard mixed reviews of the huey, because it will automagically tune your monitor as you work. Not a big deal if you are in a controlled environment with little light. But if the monitor goes dim because someone walked by your desk in a lit room, that could get annoying.
