Which Monitor ??

I am about to buy a 22 inch monitor for some retouching
and some basic web stuff.

I don't feel like spending $1000 for a Mac Display right now,

so i looked at an LG 22' with 3000:1 contrast ratio. It seemed pretty good for the money..
(only $ 450 us dollars)

-the model is called: LG 22 TFT L226WT

What do you think about doing light retouching with this monitor ?

I am not doing critical print matching right now, mostly web stuff.....

I looked up the model of the panel inside the display. Note that it's a "TN" type

22"WS LG.Philips TN Film (LM220WE1)​

So i guess what you're saying is that TN panels are not good....?
and that i should go for an S-isp panel.....

fwiw, I got a Gateway FPD2275W for $400 and it's nice, plus has lots of input options as well as usb ports for multiple screens down the road.

It's fun to follow these "what monitor should I get" threads. In every case the person just gets whatever costs less. Why ask for advice?
