Yep, Facebook doesn't want people hooked on anything but their phones because it's in their interest to control the world from your pocket - your desk and / or lap won't do sadly!
I'm just wondering why it's taking them so long to add a dark mode. Is it really that hard? Rumours say they've been working on it for months!
My family uses WhatsApp. This is my biggest complaint with WhatsApp. How hard is it to do dark mode? Even the old apps I've got finally went dark mode. .... You'd think with all that $ they could find some intern to implement dark mode.
More than the money, I think the driving factor is the willingness. I’m sure their roadmap is full of other features they want to develop which potentially makes them money rather than something that is essentially pointless for the business given the platform itself doesn’t make them money from the B2C model and too many people are already hooked on the platform so people are bound to use the app regardless of having dark mode or not.
It's Facebook. They're incapable as ****.
Look at all their apps. Nothing ever changes. And those folks have thousands of engineers. Ask yourself what they do!
