hey guys..i am new to the forums..and have used forums before...not trying to be a dick....i have searched around but cant seem to find any answers...i hope you guys can help me out a bit...i am majoring in industrial design..i need a nice and powerful notebook that can go smooth with photoshop illustrator and all that kinda junk...i have asked many people and they have told me to go with the powerbook..but then i would also see threads on here saying that the ibook wuld be a beter buy... i am deciding on the 12 inch ibook or powerbook... i do not care about looks..its all for school...which do you think will fit me? thanks alot guys.

The difference between the 12 inch iBook and PowerBook is now really down to their features. Basically, the PowerBook will be better if you use an external screen or if you need a Superdrive although the 14 inch iBook can overcome the Superdrive difference. In other words, it'd be rare for someone to need a 12 inch PowerBook over a 12 inch iBook.

If 12 inches of screen doesn't appeal to you, the 15 inch PowerBook is a good way to go. It's probably the ideal machine for you with it's better/bigger screen and it's extra grunt. However, if you think it's a bit expensive (which it is) then maybe look at the iBooks. :)

joystik, definitely wait until the 19th. Nobody can say for sure whether anything will happen or be released but it's looking likely that something will happen. :)

As mad jew said, a 15" 1.5/1.67GHz PowerBook G4 would be the ideal system. My next vote for you would be a 12" 1.5GHz PowerBook G4. Either system you choose, you will be most pleased.
