The following prices are what i can get on the old models from my school store : they are the final cost, after tax.
12' Combo: 1100
15' Combo: 1300
15' Super: 1500
15' Super with 1G ram: 1550 (If anyone think I should get the 1500 one and upgrade myself, I would prefer to buy the built-in.)

I would definitely buy one of these, but not the new model, but i m not sure which 1 i should get.
Actually, I know from the performance perspect, more expensive 1 means better, but I am an Asian, 15 inchs might not mean too big for you Americans, but it somehow means less portability for me. And I m ok to pay extra for SD or 1G ram, but i m also ok to live without them. My major concern is, I want to get a Mactel next year, and sell the one i m gonna get. So I might get one of the above mainly depends on how much absolute loss in resell values. If anyone thinks it's the best to get the 12 one, then what do you suggest among the three 15 models?

P.S. I have used the old iMac(17, 1.8) for a couple month, then i upgraded the ram from 512 to 1G, i didn't experience any significance. Can anyone tell me what's the relative gain in daily operations, in video games, and in multitask operations, to upgrade the 15 SD from 512 to 1G? or can anyone tell the difference on a PB without using any test application?

thx a lot

If that is the super with the 1gig of RAM AND the 128MB 9700 graphics then I would go for that in a heartbeat.

My girlfriend had to upgrade from 512 on her 15" PowerBook and she doesn't really push it very hard. Light Photoshop use along with a few basic programs open gobbles 512 right up.

A gig seems about perfect for all but the most basic use.

I would think that the the 15" will hold it's value a little better since it's a much better machine that you're getting at an incredible price.

I know you may take exception, but the 15" is surprisingly portable. My girlfriend (who's about 25% Asian, by the way :p ) carries one around most of the day in a backpack without any trouble.

thx a lot dude. The store closed at 9, and I was too excited at 830 after a year waiting and the forum was down so i couldn't know any valuable comment here. But I went there and bought the 15 1G one, and came back see your reply, haha, what a coincidence. Yea, i was in the store and tried to carry on the 12 and 15. Yea, just as what you said, 15 is ok for me, an Asian. And yea, after an hour research on ebay, I realized 15 SD should keep the most value. And yea, a couple of my friends confirmed me with the 1g RAM. HAHA, all agrees your comment. And you know what, I am in Pullman.
