Which One Is Better??

I'm looking at the 2010 MacBook Air and comparing it to my 2002 Desktop Dell PC. Please somebody tell me which one is better-and if i'll feel a difference of speed in the MBA

DELL:
-Intel Pentium 4 3.06GHz
-2GB of RAM
-NVIDIA Galaxy 7200 GS. (In 09' I had to go to geek-squad to get this Graphics card and it's causing my favorite game, The Sims 3, to lag) :/

MacBook Air
-Intel Core 2 Due 2.13GHz
-4GB of RAM
-NVIDIA 320M (I have NO idea about what this graphics card is capable of)

The Air should be faster all around. in CPU, GPU and Memory speed. Also in drive speed.

Depends on your usage. Apart from games and pro-tools needing more memory/cpu power, most applications don't change that much anymore. If the Air suits your needs now, and these don't change, you'll be able to use it for many years.

Considering you've been able to survive this long with a Pentium 4, then I would say the MBA will last you a very long time. The P4's were not very good processors particularly in mobile applications. Even though it's clocked higher than the MBA, it's actually quite a bit slower. Add to that the fact that you're going from a single core to a dual core, each core being more powerful then the P4 and you got your self quite a jump in performance. This is before you even factor in how much faster the MBA SSD is compared to your old laptops HDD.

A nine-year-old Dell being compared to a brand new MacBook Air? I think I've seen everything.

Both the 1.4ghz CPU and 320M in the MBA are way more powerful than your current computer specs. You'll be fine.

Coupled with the SSD in the MBA, youll notice and immediate difference.

Thanks! I just learned about clock speed so this is gonna be a good purchase
