Being the apple addict I am, I can’t help myself. Treating myself to a new device with Christmas bonus and can’t do both haha. I have an Apple Watch series 5 titanium. I would appreciate the faster charging, speed increase, and longer lasting battery life as I’m a pretty heavy user of my watch. As far as the AirPods Max go, I’m not much of an audiophile but I do listen to podcasts every day and will be doing some heavy studying for boards over the next year (including listening to lectures) and the noise cancellation would be very nice. I have loved my AirPods Pro and use them for several hours a day so I’m intrigued by these, however the price does scare me off.

Thanks in advance for any opinions

This was exactly my dilemma - except I am in a S4 stainless watch. I won't go aluminum so the price points are relatively the same, the SS watch, being a bit more. With Always On and Blood Sugar the only hardware upgrades, not counting better battery life, etc, I didn't feel like I was missing much and bypassed the S6 watch upgrade for the Max that arrive at the end of December. If I don't love them, I will return, but I thought this was my best case since the s$ watch is working so well for me at this time and there's nothing pulling me to the S6.

Its never fun "replacing" stuff, since its most of the time a very small update.

Something new like a new pair of headphones (these are to be fair different enough from your current AirPods), would be more fun if you ask me :)

I have the AirPods Pro and I am sitting and debating if I should get the Max... I sit at the computer all day and love to listen to good quality music.

Since you already have a Series 5, go with the AirPods Max :)

Do not replace a Series 5 with a Series 6. Get the Airpods if you're going to spend the money.

That’s how I’m leaning. Just a little disappointed in my battery life on my Aw5 right now, don’t think I would use anything new on Aw6 aside from fast charging and maybe a little longer battery life

Series 7 will be a much more satisfying purchase for you. You'll get both of those benefits plus new features and a likely new design. While you wait, you'll have some new Airpods Max to jam to while you study.

I have a hard time seeing the Series 5 to 6 upgrade as being very exciting. I’ve heard the battery and speed differences are barely/not noticeable.

I think the AirPods Max will make you feel like you got more for your money. I gotta think the noise cancellation on headphones that completely cover your ear will be so much better than the little Pros.

Here is a speed test between the Series 6 and SE. The SE has the Series 5 processor.

AW6 battery life is more or less the same as AW5. Don't bother upgrading for battery life.
