Hi all, would love to know everyone's choice and why. Do people like the new redesign? What do you think of it compared to other phones you've owned?

I, myself, got a Mini as I've got tiny hands and had been waiting for a small phone ever since the iPhone 5! 😄 (my favourite iPhone I've owned). Love how the new design is inspired by the iPhone 5 and really appreciate Apple doing a fully fledge smaller phone that doesn't skimp out on features.

Straight to the big boy, beast mode 12 pro max best in the business, sits on top of the smartphone throne. Think I went a little overboard there. 🤔🙄😂

Reason, like big screen iPhonesupgrading from a xs max, wanted the extra camera features, that sexy old school iPhone 4/5 design, had to see what all this hype about the battery life was all about, boy oh boy oh boy battery life is a freakin tank, monster, will destroy any other phone on the market with ease when it comes to real world battery usage. 😱😱😱

More than happy with my purchase.

None.

I was paying about $75/month for my iPhone 8 under 2 year contract, but that expired in November last year.

After considering my (Apple related) options, I realised that everything would be more expensive than the $75 figure, so I am now paying $50/month out of contract, and will probably do so for another 1-2 years, til the 11 or something is affordable.

I didn’t, I got the Samsung S9 in 2019. I like the Samsung S21 from the pictures I’ve seen (not seen in person due to the pandemic) and might pick one up when it’s more affordable. I like a headphone jack and micro sd slot, so I won’t be paying top price to let those things go.

If you’re getting the exynos model, might want to wait a bit, lots of people in Aus are having issues ranging from battery drain, camera issues, phone overheating, camera taking poor photos, Samsung has released a few updates already, few users still reporting some of these problems haven’t been fully fixed.

If you have a good return policy in your country, then you got nothing to lose.

OP, you should have enabled multiple choices to give more accurate results. I brought the SE 2020 in April and then got the 12 Mini on launch day in November 2020 (which i entered in the vote). Love them both.

iPhone 11 red, last September.
Had an 8 for 3 years, but I damaged the screen in a stupid accident, and the battery was 79%. If I didn’t damage the screen I would still use the 8.
But Face ID is such a relieve after years of Touch ID, that never worked good with my damaged fingers from working in a bakery.

iPhone SE, original. why?
Cheap - only £120.00
And it is an excellent phone, works flawlessly, perfect size, more than adequate.

Replaced a 32GB iPhone 5S I bought new in 2015 with a second hand 256GB iPhone 7+

I’m not paying thousands of dollars for a new high capacity iPhone.

Replaced my iPhone 11 Pro Max with the 12PM. Reason I did it. I upgrade every year and for the camera upgrade. Especially for the night photography.

An 11 last March because I don’t use my phone that much, and just needed a ‘base’ device to stay plugged in at home in order for my Watch to link to, and for ‘WiFi calling’ to work.

128gb SE. wanted something with a smaller footprint and this was more affordable than the mini.

I purchased an SE 2020 and 12 Mini. The SE is a terrific device even with its "familiar" design. The 12 Mini is powerful and has a darn good camera, but, I'm not a big fan of the unrelenting flatness of its design. (I know, I'm in the extreme minority.) I'm going to gift the SE to my MIL as a replacement for her 6S and the 12 Mini was given to my better half for Valentine's Day.

I voted no, 12 Pro Max and 12 Pro. I'm using my 11 Pro Max. This week I got my wife the 12 Pro Max, coming from a XS Max and my son upgraded from a regular 11 to the 12 Pro. I'm very undecided this year, I LOVE the redesign, but my 11 PM is fantastic and just not sure if the upgrade is worth it. May just wait and see what the new one has to offer in Sept. Truth be told, I haven't been able to pry the 12 PM from my wife's hands this week to play with it. Maybe tonight I'll pull a Seinfeld and make a turkey so she'll fall asleep and I can get in some 12 PM time, LOL.

Being a fan of my Max-sized phones, I have always had a love of the smaller, more pocket friendly phones. The original SE, being one of my all-time favorites. If they made a Pro version of the Mini, I'd be all-in. I know, quite a stretch from my 11 PM and mulling around the idea of a 12 PM, lol.

Edit: just to clarify, I couldn't care less about the "premium materials" i.e. stainless as opposed to aluminium frame. It lives in a case. For me the added zoom has been keeping me on the Pro versions. I rarely have ever even used the wide-angle, so sadly, I'm forced to go Pro

Got an 12 pro Max on launch day, always used iPhones with +/max since they came. Felt to heavy, so I gave it to my wife and took her xs max, it suddenly also felt heavy so sold the xs max and bought a regular 12 because of the weight, and I like the extra screen real estate on the new design:)

I went from the 11 Pro to the 12. I appreciate that the 12 weighs less than the 11 Pro while not having to give up OLED.

11PM to 12PM. Couldn’t say no to Pacific Blue. I’ve always wanted a nice blue iPhone. I hope they keep this color going forward.

11>12. I had to give my 11 away and didn’t want to buy a pro series phone without 120 hz so went for the cheapest possible upgrade. It’s a great phone and I love the oled display and new design. For me it’s been a better upgrade than the spec sheet indicates.
