Which Power Adapter do you use?

I'm curious as to which Power Adapter (Normal or Extended) people use for their laptop's. When I first bought my Macbook, I thought the shorter version was pretty neat and compact, but I've found out that it simply doesn't have a very good reach for most power plugs, so I'm stuck with the extended version. Which one do you use?

Depends where I am because of the reach. I use the compact one where I can, but I'm not really too fussed either way.

If i dont want to carry the extra bulk and i know i have easy access to a plug (like going to class/lecture) i'll leave the extension behind. I leave the extension plugged in at my dorm so i can easily and quickly switch once i get back to my desk.

I use the short one. If I'm in a place where the short one can't reach, then I use the battery

Edit: I forgot to say WHY I don't use the long one. My computer's a US import and I don't have enough adapters.

I use the short one on the go as it's takes up less space in a bag, and have the long one set up beside my desk setup so I can hook up faster at home (I also have a spare long one in work for sneaky daytime charging), so another vote for both.

I use my old school PISMO adapter, (not the yoyo) the slim black brick. I would love to vote, but as there is no option, I will continue to sit here and reminisce about the end of the 20th century...:D

I tend to use the short one (well I'm using it right now) unless I absolutely can't in which case I will use the battery unless I'm going to use it for too long and then as a last resort I'll use the long one.

Of course, most (all?) PC notebooks don't have a "short" adapter at all. I love having the option of using it when I can.

If the cord of the "short" adapter were a few feet longer, I would really be happy!

Pretty much the extension all the time. I'm prepared for an outlet 12" or 12' away either way. Not to mention for the time being I dont have the short adapter attachment, as I have a new Power Adapter on the way.

I use the extended one since I don't really need to use the short once because it just gets left plugged into the surge protector 24/7.

When I use my Macbook, I use just the power adaptor, no extension.

When the rest of the family use the iBook, they use the longer cord on their Third power adaptor.

The mag connect thing on the Macbook is worth the price of the book itself.

Am I the only one who finds the extension incredibly cumbersome because it's difficult to coil up what you don't need?

This is what I love about the short cord - the fact that you can wrap it around the little brackets on the adapter itself, so there is no extra wire hanging around.

When out and about at the coffee shop, the short one take up more space when plugged in than the long cord, so I usually go long, just to be polite and not hog two power slots when I only need one.

I use the long cord 99% of the time.

1 powerpack stay in my laptop bag for when I'm working
1 at the office desk
1 at my desk at home

(I hate switching things around when I move my MBP around)

i have my long cord plugged to my powerbar under my desk at home. I keep it "sticking out" aka not behind my desk with the other cables, but loose on the floor, so I can pick up my MBP and move it around. When I need the power adapter elsewhere (downstairs, games at school, etc) I unplug the adapter and hook on the small plug end onto it.
