As a suggestion, research the Apple "offered" Printers at your local Future Shop, Best Buy or other computer store. For me, the Online Apple Store listed price (after online discount) is more expensive then me buying locally. Yes. That surprised me as well.
Also... Do research your existing printer as well. For me, I plan to take my old "Lexmarx" printer and connect to my business Win 7 box via USB cable. I then take my business "newer" HP F4480 printer and move to my future iMac. And, connect it via USB cable to my future iMac. I double checked and my existing HP F4480 "should" work OK on the future iMac. re: http://www.fixya.com/support/t5378136-imac_os
If going to buy a future printer, I'd look at "wireless" technology. Thus, one can place this printer on a different desk or perhaps even in a different room. When selecting a NEW printer, do think of its location and possible "wireless" benefits as well.
Pro: Fast, two-sided printing, good quality, plays nice with Mac OS/X, decent feature set, wired 100 Mbps Ethernet, USB, and built-in web server for status and control.
Con: The color cartridges are relatively expensive. No native wireless option, but at least your neighbors won't accidentally send it print jobs.
