which processor for the 80gb?

I'm considering an air and have ruled out the ssd as it's far to much money for what tests have shown to be little or no improvement.

That leaves me with the processor to decide. I'm leaning towards the basic 1.6 but thought I'd see if anyone has any opinions. My guess is the hdd is going to be the bottleneck anyway so the 1.6 should handle things fine. Has anyone played with both a 1.6/80 and a 1.8/80?

I have the same issue to decide over.

Reading the comments on this forum ,1.6 should be fine even with XP running via Parallels.

Nevertheless this leaves you and me still with the question how much better 1.8 is over the 1.6. and if we would be wiser spending 270 euros (at least I have to pay in euros) more over 0.2 Hz difference

We need to have a kind of benchmark.

The benchmark was convincing enough to me that I decided to go for the 1.6
The savings (over 1.8 ) I will probably spend on a time capsule
