I'm looking for a program that will allow me to create simple games such as tic tac toe, but does not require a lot of background in programming. (I took one class in highschool which used "Turing" for writing code.) I was thinking Java since that was the next program that our teacher wanted to introduce to us but didnt have time to. any suggestions?

Java's probably not the easiest choice there, although it does have the advantage of being extremely popular (lots of books and such). Python, Ruby, or Javascript might be a better choice.

That's funny - I was going to suggest Java. ! :)

Do you want a character-based graphics tic-tac-toe game? A full screen console game using real graphics, or a graphical game embedded in a web page?

Have you tried using flash? I started out using it in computing class, not having done much programming before. The only problem may be the cost.

The problem with that is it won't teach you things which you can use to learn other languages where as with Java or Python you will learn things that you can use with other languages.
