I have duet air and while it's good for second screen use (extend mode), the remote desktop feature (mirror mode) is no better than jump desktop (streaming quality is similar, but no sound and sometimes it disconnects). Also less options in terms of resolution, aspect ratio etc (basically no option at all...). Jump desktop is the best and the only real competitor might be Splashtop...Hi, I am using Jump Desktop to connect between iPad Pro and desktop PC via home wifi. Is it still the app that offers the best performance especially in the area of 3D graphics? How about duet air?
I too use Jump Desktop for jumping into my home and cloud hosted Mac Mini’s for development. It’s honestly probably the best remote app for the iPad out there. Especially if you use the fluid protocol to remote with (basically using the jump desktop connect streamer app to connect to for your remote needs).
I have a video on my channel (my first video of my channel) that talk and demos my use of Jump Desktop.

Another option is Screens. I’ve found it pretty comparable to Jump Desktop.Jump desktop is the best and the only real competitor might be Splashtop...
I have Screens (iPad version) and I find it inferior to Jump desktop in almost every way, except maybe resource usage... (I use it when connecting to weaker laptops)Another option is Screens. I’ve found it pretty comparable to Jump Desktop.
I agree, I too have Screens and while its not bad, in my opinion its in no way equal to Jump Desktop. JD is by far the best remote solution for removing (especially when utilizing the Fluid Remote Protocol).I have Screens (iPad version) and I find it inferior to Jump desktop in almost every way, except maybe resource usage... So if I only use the iOS client Jump Desktop app, it will act as a generic RDP/VNC client connecting to vanilla Macs/Windows PC without server-side install? Then only when I want to utilize the Fluid Remote Protocol then I need to deploy the accessed machines also with the software?I agree, I too have Screens and while its not bad, in my opinion its in no way equal to Jump Desktop. Yes, you can use the JD app to do regular VNC and RDP connections. The fluid protocol is just faster and smoother. But you can indeed setup a generic VNC and RDP connections to remote into your machines with no problem. So if I only use the iOS client Jump Desktop app, it will act as a generic RDP/VNC client connecting to vanilla Macs/Windows PC without server-side install? Thanks, this sounds promising. I think I will test this setup fully to see if it fits in my (small) business workflow. We currently have a mixture of Windows PC and Macs, and a handful of users are accessing remotely from iPads more and more ever since Covid / work from home. For RDP, MS's app is fine, but most iOS client apps for VNC have no or broken mouse support as they designed with touch in mind. Not to mention the awful latency if the client is on cellular. Jump / Fluid maybe the solution and they don't ask for ridiculous subscription pricing model.Yes, you can use the JD app to do regular VNC and RDP connections.
