Which SD card for D750?

Hello guys,

which SD cards would you recommend for the D750 from these, please? (or maybe different ones?)

I don't do sport photography (currently only portraits) so I assume I don't need crazy speed, right?

So that 80mb/s should be plenty?

What brand is the most reliable one (if any) :)

Edit: Just did the math and maybe 128gb is overkill and 2x 64gb might be better as that translates to about 2k pictures in RAW on each card so for a week of shooting it should suffice :)

I have 3 of the Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB 95mb/s, two in camera and one for backup. My D90 I had something similar so I stuck with the same Extreme Pro line. Grant it I'm not shooting fast action stuff but I want the SD card to upload to my computer fast. I paid about $20 each for them. Somewhere I read that they were a little faster than the other Extreme Pro with the yellow label.

I shoot RAW and its about 553 images on my 32GB card. If you have two then that's over 1100k images. On my camera I have it set to put only video on the 2nd card slot.

I get 586 raw images on a 32gb sandisk card.
I always have the second card back up the first. Better safe than sorry.

Get which ever Sandisk is one down from the most super douper fastest as it will be cheaper and plenty fast enough.

I find 32s to be the sweet spot for me. I shoot with a camera that has one slot so I adopt the one card per day method when travelling and bin them after 2 years of use as flash memory has a limited number of writes to each memory location. This bit is excessive but it gives me peace of mind.

I get the 80mb/s cards for my A7Rii and they are plenty fast enough and cheaper than the 95mb/s ones. 128GB is fine but a 32 gets some 500 shots or so so why pay the premium for space I dont use. Also I think the 32s are about £12 each so pennies...

So in the end I got the sandisk as applefanboy suggested but i got 64gb instead.

Anyway, aren't the modern sdcards safe for read/write issue? The technology advanced so I think that shouldn't be an issue anymore, right? (and yes, it is excessive :) )

Use the second one for back up. Keeps you safe.

Not keeping cameras for two years or more? Blah,the oldest one I use,which is used on a nearly daily basis,is my old hasselblad 1600,which was the basic model from where the "moon cameras" where developed for the apollo program. The newest digital camera I use,is a Sony nex-7,somewhere around 3 years old by now.
It's not the age of the camera that's important,it's what you use it for. All these automatic functions,exposure programs and video capture stuff is mostly useless to me,as I prefer completely manual cameras.
Of course,digital cameras are great for most photography,but when I really want control of exposure,I prefer the old hasselblad,or my late 1970s Pentax K-1000.

Ken switches cameras like most people change socks! Leica, Cannon, Fuji, Hassleblad He's had them all!

Yeah, thats what I do. I have RAW+JPG and role for slot 2 is JPEG

Or at least thats how I think it works. :)

Slot 1 for RAW, slot 2 for JPEG (as a backup) :)

The cards are good for "only" about 100,000 write cycles. The areas that get the most writes is the folder indexes. About one write per exposure. Nikon entry level cameras (like the 5500) last only about 100,000 frames before the shutters and mirrors fail but a D750 might outlast an SD card. That said very few photographers will shoot 100,000 frames with one camera body or for that matter in their entire life.

But some people do have to worry, say you are using the SD card to hold log files in a portable computer and it is doing 10 or 20 writes per second

Okay so when I checked the last time I forgot I had some images on the cards. lol ((formatting)) Now 586 on the same cards.

Lol... How long has the A7Rii been out? must have had that one for 2 years by now no?

Having said that it will take me two years to convince Mrs Kenoh I need a M10... she ain't wearing any of it right now...
