so im in the market for a new imac this summer, and im kinda stuck between two models; the last gen 21.5 refurb with a 3.6ghz first gen i5 processor and a 5670, or a new base model imac 2.5 ghz quad-core sandy bridge i5 with a 6750... the first one costs like 50 dollars more. im into advanced movie editing (After effects, final cut, etc) and plan on running a few games. Which is right for me?

try having a look here

the new quad-core sandy bridge beats the 2010 hands down, i do a lot of video converting/editing and play a lot of games and im going with a '11 27" but for screen size, otherwise it would be the 2011 21.5", that's my advice :)
