iPod Which 'Shuffle' is this?

Second of the second design, by the available colors listed alongside it.
The first was the stick of gum, the second was the tiny redesign with the bright colors, and this is the second revision of the new design with the muted colors.
The third and current revision has the bright colors again, minus orange (which sucks).
But... is there really a difference in the second design models other than the 2GB option?

The second version of the second design. It is nice compared to the long annoyingness of the first design. It really shouldn't matter which version after that.
Except that the 1st gen shuffle can be used as a traditional USB data stick. I have one formatted as an atv patchstick. awesomeness.
So can the second, even though by "traditional" you mean "plugged directly in".
I would really like to get my hands on a 1st gen shuffle for this reason. Not the prettiest iPod, but it was certainly functional on a couple of levels.
But you know, the first one had the USB built it....which means its a full flash drive without carrying anything else.

But it's the prettiest data stick you'll ever find. And the only one made by Apple, if you're into that sort of thing.

All the iPods can be enabled for data storage. But only the 1st gen shuffle is *also* a USB data stick. As in stick it in the USB slot, read/write data.
The gum stick iPods also happened to have one of the best soundcards on them, ever.

I loved the old shuffle. I still have, somewhere, i think i might break it out and give it a whirl. I have that shuffle too, it is the 2nd gen, doesn't matter which version
At the price- it really is a steal! Nice review by the way- like all the hand gestures And about the packaging- it may be different if you get refurbished products, but my shuffle came in a small plastic case rather than an oversize box.
