I got the new 13" Macbook Air and I also have an iPad. I want to know which size Timbuk2 bag would fit both comfortably and leave a little room for other "things." I think the small would suffice but can anyone who has it comment? Also I got the Colcasac Zagora sleeve and want to know if it will fit in the small sized bag while it's in the sleeve. Thanks for the help.

Look at their website, find the bag that you like. There's a dimension tab on the product's page that gives you dimension and what size laptops it will fit. I have looked at one of their messenger bags and the small should be just right. Remember that they should fit regular size laptops and the MBA + ipad combined are about the same thickness of a regular laptop.

I know it is really hard to find the right bag. In the past I have used the commute in large and I now have the command in large (you just made me think I need to sell my commute). They were originally bought to fit the black macbook and a load of textbooks and other college related materials. The medium would have been sufficient though.

I now use the north face borealis backpack because my back was killing me with the messenger after walking short distances throughout the day. I like this bag because it fits both my MBA 13 and ipad in the laptop pocket and can carry most of what I need for a day worth of classes.

Timbuk2 bags are fantastic - I have a bunch of them for different stuff.

I am not 100% about the MBA but I use a small messenger with my old blackbook and that's snug - that's the non-laptop messenger mind.

I also have the large laptop messenger for MBP and for the use you describe that would be way too much bag.

Drop them a line - they are really helpful - or you could call the store 415-252-4300

Do you know if the bag has inside pockets or compartments to separate your items when inside the bag?

There are bunch of different styles. The messenger bag has pockets and pen spaces sewn into the front of the bag under the flap then a divider right across the middle of the bag (from end to end - not front to back) - never quite understood the point of that

The laptop messenger has instead of the divider the laptop holder at the back with a velcro tab to keep the machine stable.

check out their website for the different styles and build to order options.

If you want to use the bag with 13" Air, go for Small or larger.

If you have 11" Air, Eula is perfect size for the 11" + sleeve.

XS messenger has tapered bottom and while 11" Air fits ok, the edges will stick out a bit too much to feel safe.

I have a timbuk2 classic--not a laptop bag, but it has a slot which has no padding where you can put a sleeve. (I prefer than than to the laptop bags, many of which are TSA compliant and fold out, and have padding I don't want when I don't want to carry a laptop.) Note, not all non-laptop timbuk2 bags have that slot, which I find useful for placing my MBA or iPad.

The small classic fits, perfectly, my 11.6 MBA in a SF Bags sleeve, right in the slot in the bag. I think a 13-inch would not fit if you had a similar sized sleeve.

Get the small - these will fit the 13.. and also have a deep inside pocket to carry a lot of miscellaneous things. The medium fit my 15.4 and had room for DSLR fyi.
