This is the first time I've paid attention to it, but Nectarine, Blue Horizon and Lavender Gray are marked as new right now.

Looking at the chart available on here, it looks like Red, Hermes Orange, Midnight Blue, Pink Sand, Black, and White and Nike Anthracite/Black, Black/Volt are pretty constant.

It seems like new bands came out Spring/Fall for 2015/2016 then all four seasons in 2017 and all seasons so far this year.

Are new bands released without fanfare or how the new hardware events do it with the online Apple Store shutting down?

Some bands seem to last only one season (small sales?) while other last 2, 3, 4, 5+.

Dang it, I was gonna get Pure Platinum/White from Nike but it sold out in the last week. PP/Black looks possibly better tho.

Hermes Orange is only available if you purchase the Hermes series apple Watch. It is not available as a stand-alone band.

Even the black sport band has changed shades (lighter now), so nothing is safe.

Do you know at which point the color changed? My experience with black sport bands is on Series 2 and Series 4. I didn't even look at or take the S4 band out of the packaging to compare to S2. I'll just continue to use that for the time being.

I believe it was a change introduced with S4. At least that is the first time I noticed people reporting it being lighter.

Interesting, I'll have to have a look and compare them. Thanks!

Edit: Well I just pulled them out to compare. The S2 is on the left, S4 is on the right. They are VERY close but the S4 black looks like it's got a bit more charcoal in it than S2's black. Macro shots with Camera + with desk lights, no flash, no editing.

Except for a few colors, most are seasonal. If you follow fashion trends, you'll see that Apple is highly attuned to seasonal color palettes. That means in practice that many colors disappear quickly. If you love a particular color (that isn't one of the standards), buy it quickly after release.
