I'm from Canada. I see that people get the "Sintech adapter". Which one is the right one? Or would either of these work?
I'm planning on getting the recommended Samsung 970 EVO Internal SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe Solid State Drive MZ-V7E1T0BW for the SSD.

I got this adapter for my Early 2015 11-inch MBA. No issues and I'm running a Samsung 512GB 970 PRO NVMe M.2 drive with no issue.

I have model you have... See sig. Don't get the long adapter, get the short Sintech one. With the long one, the case bottom presses down on the drive and will cause failure eventually.

Just bought an Intel 660p for a Macbook 11 mid 2013. Got the long adapter (chinese M.2 NGF TO MAC BOOK 2013-2017).
Disk utility is not showing the SSD. Is it the adapter of this SSD is not compatible?

Is the MacBook running at least a High Sierra bootrom? It would not be the SSD because I have used the same SSD in an early 2015 13" Air.

I think it is but Im not sure. The OS I have in this Air is the High Sierra 10.13.6. But since I replace the SSD I dont know if it boots with a HS version or an older version.

If it has a High Sierra bootrom, you should be able to boot with a High Sierra USB installer or boot using Internet recovery. Disk Utility from High Sierra or Internet recovery should be able to see the drive.

doing Internet Recovery and after its checked I can access the disk utility to try to format this new SSD, but it is not showing the new drive, just the 1.48GB system drive. Im afraid either the SSD or the adapter have a problem.

Did you try removing and re-installing the drive and adapter? Check to make Sure the adapter is not bending in any way.
several times... even replaced with the old one.. it worked.. tried again with the new one and "no good".

I suggest installing the original Apple drive and installing the latest release of Big Sur to ensure the MacBook is running the latest bootrom. Older versions of macOS will run fine on a machine with a newer bootrom.
